Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process to get an appointment?

After you reach out I will be in touch to schedule a consultation over the phone. We will discuss what is bringing you in, insurance or other payment method and scheduling. If we both agree to move forward we will schedule a full intake session.

What can I expect from our sessions?

Our first session or two will be an intake focused on gathering background information as well as what is going on currently that is bringing you in. After that we will discuss your treatment goals and move forward together in your treatment.

~Maya Angelou

Do you provide in-person or online counseling?

All counseling sessions are conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform.

Is online counseling right for me?

Although there are many advantages of online counseling (it’s convenient, effective, keeps us safe from infectious diseases such as COVID-19), it’s not right for everyone. Online counseling (teletherapy) works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not people who are suicidal or in crisis), are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private place to have their sessions.

How long do I need to be in therapy?

There is no set amount of time that is right for everyone. Some people stay for a few months some for a few years. Others come and go. Everyone’s needs are different and can change over time.

What will therapy cost?

I am in network with Aetna and Optum at this time. For any other insurance company, I am considered an out-of-network provider. However, many individuals are eligible for reimbursement for therapy through out-of-network-benefits. I can provide you with necessary documentation if you wish to submit for insurance reimbursements. Prior to starting treatment, I would recommend contacting your insurance company to verify your coverage for both in and out of network.
